Mick Yates Biography

Mick Yates is co-founder of Growing Global. He is a globally experienced CEO, having spent almost 30 years working in Europe, the USA and across Asia Pacific. Until mid 2001, Mick was Company Group Chairman of Johnson & Johnson's Consumer business in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. He was a J&J Corporate Officer and a member of the Global Operating Committee. Prior to this, Mick spent 22 years at Procter & Gamble, latterly as Regional Vice President based in Hong Kong and then in Japan. In all, he spent 11 years as a Regional CEO of Asian businesses.

Mick is the founder of LeaderValues Ltd, which helps create innovative leadership and business development strategies, advising and mentoring CEO's and their top management teams on multinational deployment. The LeaderValues website is also one the net’s most visited leadership development resources.

Mick is Executive Chairman of Living Cell Technologies, a leading bio-technology cell therapy Company just successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. The firm has operations in Australia, the USA and New Zealand, with partners in Europe.

Mick is also associated with the Pacific Rim Forum (Melbourne, Australia), which for many years has been the pre-eminent Asia Pacific political, economic and business related Conference series.  This includes the Science-based Innovation Summits in China (Beijing, June 2002 and Shanghai, 2006).

In the non-profit arena, Mick is a member of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children (USA), a past member of the Board of Save the Children Korea, and a Chief Advisor to the Save the Children International Alliance. The Yates family helped found a program for Cambodian school children in the ex Khmer rouge areas in 1999.

Mick is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts and a founding member of the Change Leaders, a global community of practice dedicated to helping organizations positively address the human side of change.  This was created by the participants in the 2004 Oxford / HEC "Consulting and Coaching for Change" program, where he also completed an MSc.
